Alum Conducts CNC Workshop
Industrial designer and former UL Lafayette Faculty Brooke Davis, IDSA gave a CNC workshop to interested students this past weekend. Brooke runs a CNC manufacturing lab in Austin and is an expert in both rapid prototyping machinery and post processing software.
Industrial Design Field Study
Assistant Professor Benjamin Bush and industrial design students traveled to General Electric in Louisville, KY and Kaleidoscope Design in Cincinnati, OH to take studio and factory tours and interact with professionals. Student MaryBeth Lejeune said, “She loved the city of Cincinnati and visiting Kaleidoscope reaffirmed her passion for working within a design firm setting.”

New Technology
Benjamin Bush, Industrial Design Assistant Professor, implements an enhanced portfolio critique system. By combining Nintendo Wiimote, infrared pen, and Smoothboard Whiteboard software, Bush can digitally write on students’ projects. From a teaching standpoint, writing on a giant board with no cleaning is liberating, and students have a digital record of items to be improved.
